Team work makes the dream work right. I’ve learned a lot from working by myself and working with a team. I gone from having a virtual team to having a physical team that I meet with twice a week in person and communicate with constantly. I can say the value and life lesson that I have gained from having a team are priceless.

A few basic things I learned from my team.

Play your role: identify what you do on the team and what are your strengths and weaknesses. The foundation of every team is based on the ability of everyone to know how they fit into the big picture. Michael Jordan needed a supporting cast to win. Everyone knew what they were on the court to do and did that well.

Ask for help: While everyone is playing their part and doing it well, there are times when you just need to ask for help. Being able to do a project on your own is great but being open about what you can handle really allows your team to operate more efficiently when they understand your work load and what your able to accomplish.

Build as a unit: You’re only as strong as your weakest link. Their Understanding what you are doing as a team and what each person is doing for their personal projects is important. You never know what connect you can help them make and you never know how your skillsets can take them to the next level.

Overall, each person is key to the growth of everyone involved. Be mindful that everyone is important so be respectful of yourself your time and everyone else’s time and efforts on the team.  Build a strong foundation and you will do well.
